Leeds-based wide-format printer, Digital Plus, has been announced as one of the first companies to purchase a limited-edition Anapurna Ciervo H3200 from Agfa, and the first in the UK to do so.

The Anapurna Ciervo wide-format hybrid printer, which is designed chiefly for indoor and outdoor sign and display applications, offers a print width of up to 3.2m, UV LED curing technology, and a six-colour plus white ink set.

To celebrate 20 years since the launch of Anapurna printers, Agfa commissioned an exclusive, limited-edition Ciervo that was displayed at this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo, featuring an artistic design by Belgian street artist, DZIA, which was also signed by the artist.

Owen Russell, managing director at Digital Plus, visited FESPA to see the printer in action before making the purchase, noting its speed and productivity as key factors behind the purchase.

Speaking of the purchase, Russell says: “The Anapurna Ciervo offers us a performance upgrade in terms of speed, productivity, and its reduction in energy use being LED-curing based.

“It’s replacing one of our old machines and the service and support from Agfa has been excellent. The team is really excited about the install and with the DZIA design is certainly going to stand out in our press hall.”

Digital Plus works across a wide range of markets including architecture, retail, education, leisure, and trade, producing display graphics, signage, point of sale (POS) display stands, as well as exhibition stands.

Speaking of how the Anapurna works within the company’s existing output, Russell adds: “We need agility and versatility to respond to our customers’ needs and the Ciervo machine delivers on that front for us.

“Combined with knowing that Agfa produce the equipment, the inks, the Asanti workflow software, and provide strong service and support, we have complete peace-of-mind working with one reliable partner to help drive our business forward.”

Agfa used FESPA Global Print Expo to unveil two new inkjet printing systems, revealing its new Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS and Onset Panthera FB3216 to the public for the first time at the show.

The Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS has been developed to provide consistent quality on both rigid and flexible materials, reportedly offering low ink consumption alongside a range of advanced automation options.

The Onset Panthera FB3216 offers advanced LED curing capability designed for rapid, high-quality prints with strong gloss levels and minimal energy usage.

The H3300 XUHS went on to win three European Digital Press Association (EDP) Product Awards, with the winners announced during FESPA. The wide-format inkjet press received awards in the engine, automation, and ink categories, which Arnaud Calleja, vice-president of Digital Printing Solutions at Agfa, said was “a powerful validation of our commitment to innovation.”
