Core Exhibitions expands into superwide-format with Mimaki purchase

The Agfa Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS, which was globally launched at this year’s FESPA, has won awards in the engine, automation, and ink categories at this year’s EDP Awards
Agfa has taken home a trio of European Digital Press Association (EDP) Product Awards for its new hybrid press, the Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS.
Launched in 2007, the annual EDP Awards highlight technical achievements in the digital printing, publishing, and packaging industries, with the winners announced at this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo in Berlin.
The wide-format inkjet press, which was launched at this year’s FESPA alongside a range of brand-new solutions, received awards in the engine, automation, and ink categories.
The Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS boasts production speeds up to 1,280m²/h, with 12 rows of print heads and a design engineered for 24/7 multi-shift operation.
The press has been developed to produce offset-like quality across a variety of media including signage, cardboard, and specialty substrates.
The XUHS offers a hybrid design with four- or seven-colour configurations including varnish. It also utilises an extended vacuum with automated feed guides designed to streamline production.
In the automation category, Agfa was awarded for the MAX Bots robotic system used in the press. The system for loading and unloading aims to reduce manual handling while maximising throughput.
In combination with a Flex RTR module, the MAX Bots let print service providers (PSPs) switch between rigid and roll media, allowing for mixed-media jobs while minimising intervention.
The machine’s Tauro 30 ink set, designed for high performance on corrugated cardboard and rigid sign materials, was awarded in the ink category. The press has been developed to offer consistent jetting reliability, even at higher head gaps, providing bending resistance up to 180° without cracking.
