The Magic Touch was called upon by Regatta to develop branding solutions that do not harm the garments waterproofing
Over a two-week period the technical team at the Dunstable UK headquarters produced and applied an extensive range of transfers produced using the existing 123 Flex, Magi Cut Flock, Reflective, Printable Soldark, and full-colour Wow transfer products.
“One key factor established during the research was the importance to avoid any marking or scorching whilst applying the transfers using the traditional heat press method; this issue is very relevant today with higher value garments and expected high print quality to be attained,” explains Jim Nicol, managing director of The Magic Touch.
He adds: “With many of the new polyester and performance fabrics being very sensitive to heat and pressure, this issue has been solved with application temperatures being as low as 110 to 120°C.”
