Agfa’s Jeti Mira is fit for a King
Japanese commercial, and sign and display printing company King Printing has used a Jeti Mira wide-format printer from Agfa Graphics to help restore images at the Byodo-In Temple in Kyoto.

In August 1968, Byodo-In Temple was dedicated to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii in the US
The company, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, opted for the device after meeting with Agfa to discuss its future plans and establishing that the Jeti Mira matched its ambitions.
Although King Printing is more used to more modern print jobs, the firm was able to use the techology to help restore the shumidan—a dais for a Buddhist image—at the Byodo-In Temple in Uji-city.
Yoshio Ushijima, president of the company, comments: “The Jeti Mira gave us new options; Agfa made a clear proposal on the solution they would be offering us, and they made it clear what we would gain by introducing this new printer.
I hope these kinds of jobs will continue to come in, as contributing to our country’s cultural assets will enhance our company image”
“It is very important to me that a supplier has a clear vision. Agfa indeed has a very similar vision to ours, so I was sure that they are not like the other manufacturers, and that is why we opted for them.”
Looking back on the special temple project, Ushijima adds: “This project was part of our advance into the industrial printing field. I told my staff to take on this job as if we were creating a new cultural asset, not just restoring one.
“I hope these kinds of jobs will continue to come in, as contributing to our country’s cultural assets will enhance our company image.”
