West Ham United moved to the London Stadium site in time for the 2016-17 season

Working in partnership with Bromsgrove firm Image Technique, Vink provided an LED letter lighting solution as part of the transformation of the team’s new London Stadium home—the centrepiece of the London 2012 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The project featured a series of phases, including marquee signage that spelled out the team’s name and was installed 40 metres above ground level at the top of the stadium, with each letter measuring 3 metres high.

The signage will now be seen not only by home and visiting fans at the stadium, but also hundreds of millions of people around the world that tune in to watch matches on television.

It has been hugely rewarding to see how our  LED’s have helped Image Technique successfully achieve one part of this huge re-branding exercise

Scott Groom, operations manager for Image Technique, comments: “A job of this nature puts everyone’s reputations on the line, and we are very pleased to report that West Ham United’s project director has given us and our suppliers some extremely positive feedback on how the project was managed and the quality of the final work.”

Macer Bridges, general manager of Vink UK lighting division, adds: “It has been hugely rewarding to see how our  LED’s have helped Image Technique successfully achieve one part of this huge re-branding exercise.

“The consultative approach, support and expert lighting advice provided by Vink ensured that Image Technique delivered this project to the highest standards.”
