LR Designs accelerates with new CJV

Printing the right shade of corporate orange has always been a headache for sign-makers, and such was the problem around this for LR Designs that it actually invested in brand new wide-format print technology to solve it.

LR Designs can now print orange for KTM motorbikes thanks to a Mimaki CJV150 printer/cutter

The firm has opted for a Mimaki CJV150, purchasing it through Printmax that revealed the motivation for the investment was to help LR Designs fulfil a prestigious contract for printing liveries for KTM motorbikes.

The CJV150 print and cut solution has ten ink colour options, including silver, orange, light black, and white inks. The machine delivers speeds of up to 56.2sq m per hour, and Lee Rudd from LR Designs says the colours are “much better on the CJV” than its previous machine.
We are looking forward to broadening our horizons as we learn more about the possibilities that the printer can offer us, Mimaki gives us more control over our print, allowing extra options and variations

Rudd adds: “We are looking forward to broadening our horizons as we learn more about the possibilities that the printer can offer us, Mimaki gives us more control over our print, allowing extra options and variations.

“At first it was challenging for us to get used to the change between our existing printers and the Mimaki, however, moving forward with the new machine is really exciting. It produces excellent work and we can see the huge potential to our business. The KTM orange was a strong requirement in our purchase, Printmax has offered continual advice and support in how we can achieve this, I’ll definitely be using them again.”

Printmax sales manager, Chris Martin, comments: “The Mimaki enables LR Designs to offer KTM orange as a new venture, which they had previously not been able to produce, along with offering new product opportunities at a higher quality, noting that the colours are extremely vibrant.”
