The Signs Express Glasgow installations formed part of a £1.5m project at the Glasgow Science Centre

While Glasgow tackled a job for the city’s Science Centre, the Warrington division took on a project at the Waverly Mall in Edinburgh, previously Princes Mall.

Signs Express Glasgow’s job formed part of the ‘Powering The Future’ exhibition, a project worth £1.5m and has been designed to stimulate public debate and engagement with key issues around the energy ‘trilemma’—security, affordability, and environment sustainability.

The firm had the task of organising and manufacturing an array of new displays and signage at its unit, before going on to install the applications at the Science Centre.

The Glasgow arm came up with a varied selection of applications, ranging from interactive display panels and exhibit interpretation boards, through to built up text and various illuminated displays, as well as a host of other bespoke items that can now be seen throughout the facility.

I am extremely proud of the team and the work they delivered

Graham Casey, owner of Signs Express Glasgow, which has worked on two other projects with the Science Centre, said: “We really enjoy working with the science centre and were thrilled to be asked to help with this project.

“Due to the size of the project, it demanded all of the in-house equipment and utilised all of the extensive skills in the team to ensure we completed the work to the highest standard. I am extremely proud of the team and the work they delivered.”

Meanwhile, the Signs Express Warrington job saw the franchise rebrand the newly-named Waverly Mall as part of a £4m transformation project.

Before work began on the signage, the facility had already had its ceilings restructured and aisles widened, with the Signs Express arm applying the finishing touches.

The project comprised complete rebrand of the external signage with built-up LED illuminated letters and logo, as well as additional internal branding and wayfinding signs.

In a statement reflecting on the project, Signs Express Warrington said: “The entire project took eighteen months to complete, from the initial contact with the agency through to the installation.

The install itself took four weeks and required a combination of scaffold towers and scissor lifts to complete, as well as consultation with both the local authority and the tram operator in Edinburgh due to the proximity of the tram lines

“The install itself took four weeks and required a combination of scaffold towers and scissor lifts to complete, as well as consultation with both the local authority and the tram operator in Edinburgh due to the proximity of the tram lines.”

Signs Express is widely seen as one of the most successful franchise networks in the industry, and, with the success of these projects, it is clear to see why, with shops across the group able to provide a wide range of services to clients of all types and sizes.
