Wavetec technology withstands the heat
Display solutions specialist firm Wavetec has installed the largest financial outdoor display in the Middle East, in a project that’s proves the ability of its product to withstand extreme temperatures

Wavetec had to ensure the display was able to withstand extreme heat of up to 48°C.
The outdoor LED ticker was installed at the façade of the Bahrain Financial Harbour Complex building in Bahrain, a country that experiences temperatures of up to 48°C.
Due to the heat, coupled with the brightness of the sun,
Wavetec worked to ensure that the solution would be able to withstand such extremes.
Wavetec opted to use LED technology from Japanese firm Nichia to create the solution, which consisted of a 64 x 2 linear metre, fully coloured ticker with Wavetec’s information display solution that was then integrated with Bahrain Bourse’s own data feed.

The LED ticker boasts a 16bit colour and features 8bit automatic dimming capabilities, which Wavtec says ensure high quality video and image viewing from a far distance.
From the initial meeting to final commissioning, the project took a total of 42 weeks—a period of time that also included training and testing of the system.
The outdoor display comes shortly after Wavetec also installed a turnkey indoor installation at the Bahrain Stock Exchange—a project that included a total of 10 curved full-colour LED display walls each measuring 2 x 5m.
The indoor project also features two curved LED tickers; one measuring 60m and the other 6m.
