The game takes visitors on a journey through an Airbus A380 turnaround, using three 42” multi-touch displays and a wind tunnel
The game, which was commissioned by project managers, Pulse Group, is played on three 42” multi-touch displays, taking the user through all the stages of an Airbus A380 turnaround.
Managing director of Engage, Steve Blyth, comments: “We’re incredibly proud that Pulse Group asked us to work on this project. And I’m prouder still that the team at Engage pulled out all the stops to deliver to the highest quality and well within the specified time-frame.”
Covering an area of around 300sq/m, the Emirates Aviation Experience is reportedly the first of its kind in the world. In addition to designing the game, Engage were responsible for providing a holographic system depicting an Airbus A380 in full flight, as well as a camera allowing visitors to take photos of themselves in the cockpit.
On top of this, in a further attempt to replicate the conditions of an aircraft, Engage created software to power a virtual wind tunnel application, which demonstrates how influences such as airflow, weight, drag, thrust, lift, and air pressure affect flight.
“Like everyone else involved,” Blyth concludes, “we’ve done everything in our power to make the Emirates Aviation Experience a resounding success.”
