The sign fell from Infiniti2 on September 4th, 2019, seriously injuring a passer-by

The sign, which fell from a shop on Whiteladies Road, Bristol, crashed down onto the head of an unnamed woman as she was walking past.

A first aider who witnessed the accident attended to the woman before she was rushed to Southmead Hospital to be treated for a serious head injury.

The sign has been described by a witness as being made of “wood with metal fixings” which snapped in two on the impact.

SWASFT were called at 1.40pm to Whiteladies Road, Clifton after it was reported a sign had fallen on a lady. Paramedics treated the lady on scene and took her onto hospital for further treatment

In a statement, a spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Trust says: “SWASFT were called at 1.40pm to Whiteladies Road, Clifton after it was reported a sign had fallen on a lady. Paramedics treated the lady on scene and took her onto hospital for further treatment.”

The sign belongs to wardrobe and fitted furniture store, Infiniti2, and according to Bristol Live, the shop owners had only taken over the shop five months ago.

In an interview with the local publication, co-owner Igor Kominek comments: “I was at a meeting and had a call from the store to say what had happened. I came back and found the sign leaning up against the side, but the lady had been taken to hospital. I really hope she is ok.”
