The scholarship encourages women to aspire for leadership roles in the OOH industry

The Nancy Fletcher Leadership Scholarship has been made available by the Foundation for Outdoor Advertising Research and Education (FOARE) – a national trade association for the $7.8bn (£6bn) OOH advertising industry.

A total of $5,000 (£3824) will be awarded annually to one successful woman with a connection to the OOH advertising industry who has demonstrated leadership qualities and skills.

Nancy Fletcher is the president and chief executive officer of the Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA). An attorney and former billboard company executive, Fletcher has served for nearly three decades at the head of the association.

A veteran in the industry, Fletcher began her career as a lobbyist and spent more than a decade with Naegele Outdoor Advertising in various roles, including serving as president/general manager of the Minneapolis/St. Paul division and general counsel for the parent corporation.

I look forward to seeing recipients grow, succeed, and pay it forward. When women help women, we all win

Endowed by the Fletcher Family Foundation, the scholarship is designed to recognise and encourage young women to aspire to leadership positions.

“Throughout my career, I have strived to support female colleagues and all women in the workplace,” says Fletcher. “I am proud the Fletcher Family Foundation will provide this scholarship to young women who aspire to reach their goals. I look forward to seeing recipients grow, succeed, and pay it forward. When women help women, we all win.”

In order to be successful in their application, candidates must demonstrate leadership qualities and skills though their academic life, community activities and career goals.

The deadline to apply for the 2019-2020 academic year is June 12th, 2019.
