Glen Robinson, managing director of Gala Graphics, hopes that the installation of a dye-sublimation printer will bring new customers

The company says that this process is often outsourced, sometimes even to business in China, but has decided to bring dye-sublimation in-house. Gala will now be able to print high-quality images on fabrics, plastic, metal, and wood.

As part of the investment, Gala Graphics has also installed a new Roland True Vis 640 to upgrade its existing solvent capabilities, which will aid in the production of banners, flags, roller banners, leaflets, and business cards.

As we can now carry out dye-sublimation printing in-house this means lead times are significantly reduced. As a result, we expect this new service to attract further business from across the UK and Europe

Glen Robinson, managing director of Gala Graphics, says: “We recognised that there was demand in the market for printing on specialist materials for a wide variety of industries including visual marketing, textiles, and household.

“As we can now carry out dye-sublimation printing in-house this means lead times are significantly reduced. As a result, we expect this new service to attract further business from across the UK and Europe, which will create more opportunities for local people.”

The Rotherham-based printers believes that the move will entice more customers, as the technology keeps improving, giving printers and sign-makers the ability to offer a full spectrum of colours.
