The winners were presented with their accolades at an awards ceremony, held in Leicester

Over 250 projects were entered into the awards scheme, and there were 15 awards up for grabs, with two runners-up for each group.

Signbox had a particularly good event, winning and coming as a runner-up for several awards, including a win for Architectural Sign of the Year (as well as also appearing as a runner-up) and The Décor Award.

David Catanach, director of the British Sign and Graphics Association, comments: “The awards are now a firm fixture in the sign industry calendar. The event provides the one occasion in the year when the whole industry comes together in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere and where the focus is entirely on the work of sign-makers.”

Catanach continues: “Our new venue for the awards—the Athena Centre in the heart of Leicester’s cultural quarter—provided a perfect and quite dramatic setting for the event. We hope everybody enjoyed the day as much as we did.

We are already starting to plan for 2018 and will be unveiling the details as soon as possible. We hope that the fantastic support we have received over the past four years will continue in to 2018

“The BSGA would, in particular, like to thank all the sponsors for their support. We believe that the awards play a vital role in the industry by casting the spotlight on the real work of sign-makers. However, without the support of sponsors, the awards simply would not happen.”

Signlink’s supported award, which was presented by editor Brendan Perring, was awarded to Lavastar Signs (https://www.lavastar.co.uk/), with SIGNCO and Apogee Print highly commended by judges.

Catanach finishes: “We are already starting to plan for 2018 and will be unveiling the details as soon as possible. We hope that the fantastic support we have received over the past four years will continue in to 2018.”
