Richard Fyson celebrating his win at The Print Show gala dinner

Fyson, whose company Smart Print exhibited at The Print Show 2017, scooped the top prize of a race day experience at Silverstone after his ticket number was drawn out at the dinner.

Fyson jokes that he has Smart Print customer Mark Bidewell of Bison Print to thank for the win, after he purchased the raffle strip prior to Fyson’s winning strip.

He adds: “I’m looking forward to using my accelerator, something the M25 doesn't afford!”

While Fyson can look forward to a day of thrills at the UK’s most famous racing circuit, the money raised from the raffle will be going to a very worthy cause. A total of £1,560 will be donated to Keech Hospice Care, which has sites close to the Smart Print facility in Welwyn Garden City.

Fyson says: “It is always difficult to select a particular charity as there are so many deserving causes. Keech Hospice is a project my wife has supported over the years, providing care for both young and old with terminal and life-limiting illnesses in our local area.”

Smart Print offers independent advice to printers and marketers in selecting the best digital print technology for their business—ranging from cut sheet kit to wide-format print solutions.

The company is able to offer technology from the likes of Xerox, Ricoh, HP and Canon, Fyson says it was able to attract plenty of interest in its services during The Print Show this year.

Fyson expands: “From an exhibitor’s perspective, we met a high proportion of people looking to make business investments over the next 12 months. Nearly all of the people were engaged and enthused by print, which is refreshing.

“It's also nice to catch up with a broad diversity of exhibitors who service our industry, many of whom are long-term friends.”
