Pedal power: Tim Andrews of Hollywood Monster sponsors Matrix Fitness, which is helping Lucy Shaw build her career in professional cycling
Shaw took the top spot in the Junior Female Scratch Race and races for Solihull Cycling Club and Matrix Fitness, which is sponsored by regional and national sign-making business Hollywood Monster.
Shaw commented after the win: “Matrix Fitness, and, perhaps even more so, Hollywood Monster have given me a big opportunity.
"The road has been tough this season because of taking some time off for my exams, but to know I have a national title it’s made it a great first year with Matrix Fitness.
"I’ve got some more road and track racing this season and then it’s full focus on a successful step up the elite ranks.”
The managing director of Hollywood Monster, Tim Andrews, weighed in on the news: “I’m absolutely thrilled to see that Lucy is already taking the competitive cycling world by storm, taking medals and winning her first major junior tournament since joining Matrix Fitness development team.

"She is definitely an athlete to keep an eye on for the future.”
Andrews is a keen cyclist himself and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charitable concerns in the West Midlands and the UK.
He is also a keen advocate of promoting women in sport, and has also sponsored Birmingham City Ladies FC for the last four years.
Matrix Fitness team manager Stefan Wyman says of Shaw: “She learnt a lot at Tour of Brittany, she’s been impressive in our training camps, and now she has national stripes.
"That’s a pretty impressive season in our books.”
