It is a tough one to take, but we are talking about the World Cup in Brazil back in 1950. This time around it is too early to tell and both football teams need to get out their group first before a possible clash.

One wide-print firm who are offering an interesting financial angle on the two teams staying in the competition longer than expected is Soyang Europe. The company has an offer which may save potential customers a few quid (or more than a few quid) if they order two of their products while the two nations remain in Brazil.

In their offer the company states: “To celebrate the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, digital print media supplier, Soyang Europe, is showcasing its game-changing, American manufactured media products; G-Floor and Alumigraphics with a unique offer. For as long as either England or the USA remains in the competition, all orders for products from these ranges will receive a 5 percent discount and free delivery in the UK.”

It’s also a great excuse to celebrate the close bonds we’ve created with our American partners through our European distribution of these two fantastic, wide-format media products

With England losing to Italy in their first match there is a sense of urgency as by Thursday night England could be all but out if they slip up against Uruguay, while the Americans face an early flight home if they cannot overcome Germany and Portugal, let alone Ghana.

Andrew Simmons, sales director Soyang Europe, says: “We love the ‘beautiful game’ here at Soyang and we’re obviously hoping England do well in the World Cup. It’s also a great excuse to celebrate the close bonds we’ve created with our American partners through our European distribution of these two fantastic, wide-format media products.”

For those unfamiliar with the products, G-Floor is a high density clear, flexible PVC substrate, capable of being printed on the underside, using either UV or solvent inks on a grand-format printer. While Alumigraphics is a rugged aluminium foil base material which conforms and holds to the texture of any surface that it is applied to, and can be printed on large format digital printers with UV curable, latex, solvent, and screenprint inks.

Floor graphics is an area that is finding new markets and new applications as its popularity rises, such the entrance area to The London Book Fair this spring.
