Roland expands desktop flatbed UV range
Roland DG has added the VersaUV LEF-20 to its range of desktop flatbed UV printers for the production of customised items, packaging and industrial parts

“Two years’ ago we launched the revolutionary LEF series, opening up an extraordinary new range of creative possibilities, enabling businesses to print onto a wide variety of materials and products including USB sticks, phone covers, and many other personalised items,” says Jerry Davies, managing director, Roland DG UK.

The firm says that it can now print on a larger 20 inch print area offering both larger items and faster printing. It can print directly onto substrates up to 508mm wide, 330 mm in length and 100mm deep, which according to the firm means it can brand items as large as a guitar body and signage.
In the battle of the dealers, the firm's number one reseller PrintMAX is claiming what is believed to be a world first. Digitalblanks.com purchased the model from the firm just one hour after it was announced at 9AM this morning.
Additionally, PrintMax has dropped the price of its predecessor the LEF-12 to just £12,500.
The LEF20 uses Roland's ECO-UV ink and can print CMYK, white and clear formulations for bright, high-opacity images and text, and comes bundled with the technology providers RIP software.
