Zeta Specialist Lighting’s Ecolux Solar is designed not only to be environmentally-friendly, but also give flexibility on sites where there is no mains power
Michael Hall Associates was commissioned for the job across the four-acre site and chose Zeta Specialist Lighting’s Ecolux Solar LED trough lighting system, which is powered completely by photo voltaic panels.
The existing signs were unlit and had no mains power, therefore, a traditional lighting solution would have required laying cabling, which can be costly and time-intensive. Instead, Michael Hall Associates opted for a solar-powered solution and were recommended the system by Zeta.
As optimum levels of illumination were required at all times, Ecolux Solar was ideal as it boasts a new Super Lens which enables even illumination on signs up to three metres deep.

A statement from Zeta says: “As the largest public sector emitter of carbon emissions, the NHS has a duty to contribute to the Climate Change Act which was introduced in 2008 to ensure the UK cuts its carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050.
“With this front of mind, delivering a solution that would help the hospital meet its carbon reduction targets and limit the effects of climate change, was of paramount importance.”
It is also useful to note that LEDs have an average life of 50,000 hours making it virtually maintenance free—add to that no energy consumption or ongoing running costs and it becomes a highly sustainable solution.
