Lifting the Lid on LED drivers looks at many of the major issues surrounding LED drivers and examines the impact that they have on luminaire performance, thus granting designers of luminaires a greater understanding of the technology.

With this enhanced knowledge, Fulham said that designers will be able to make informed specifying decisions, and secure the solution that best suits both their design and budget requirements.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the quality of an LED driver significantly affects the performance, reliability and commercial viability of luminaires

In a statement confirming the launch of the white paper, Fulham says: “It is becoming increasingly clear that the quality of an LED driver significantly affects the performance, reliability and commercial viability of luminaires. However choosing the right driver is far from straightforward, because it is a closed unit.

“The decision is made more difficult by the lack of consistent or comparative information from suppliers about the performance and specification of the driver.”

Although LED has been cited by many as one of the most important technologies in the modern industry, some suppliers and manufacturers say it is not being used to its full potential. The Fulham publication could go a long way in helping industry members with future projects.
