The Missouri branch of global franchise Fastsigns has installed a new environmentally-friendly hybrid roll/flatbed EFI H1625 LED printer, after the head office in Texas designated it a ‘recommended production device’ for its franchisees.

Fastsign’s has just installed a new H1625 LED hybrid roll/flatbed from EFI

The Gladstone branch will use the 65-inch wide printer to handle the extra orders of car park signage, backlit signs and other display graphics, using the machine’s low energy consumption to full advantage.

LED technology is well known to consume less energy and therefore reduce costs and it is a greener option compared to other print methods as it produces virtually no VOCs. The LED technology also has the benefit of being ‘cool cure’, meaning Fastsigns is able to print on certain substrates that cannot survive the temperature of other curing or drying processes.

The EFI H1625 is faster than our last hybrid printer and it prints more accurately

"The older hybrid printer we had in our facility was not performing the way we wanted it to, and the manufacturer had discontinued the service warranty for that model," says Gregg Kruse, co-owner of the franchise, with his wife Diane, "The EFI H1625 is faster than our last hybrid printer and it prints more accurately."

EFI Inkjet’s Scott Schinlever, senior vice president and general manager, is confident the printer will boost Fastsigns production, saying: "With its proven, industry-leading LED inkjet imaging technology and its low total cost of ownership, we are confident that the EFI H1625 LED printer will prove to be one of the very best hybrid wide-format production options available for Fastsigns franchises and other signage and graphics operations.”
