Fujifilm SIS has been awarded Stationers’ Company’s Innovation Excellence Award, after being nominated by the The British Coatings Federation

The British Coatings Federation (BCF), of which they are a member, nominated Fujifilm for the award following its impressive entry to the BCF’s Sustainable Innovation Award in 2013, for which they received a highly commended nod for excellence in training.

The judges—ranging from members of the Stationers’ Company, The Technology Strategy Board and the BBC—were impressed with Fujifilm SIS’s dedication to, “zero waste to landfill and significant cost reduction,” and that it “showed the skilled deployment of a well-engineered change programme, and a great example of manufacturing best practice at work that ensures survival in a tough market place.”

This is the first Innovation Excellence Awards Programme run by the Stationers’ Company, which serves the £75bn communications and content industry, and we look forward to being able to nominate BCF members in the future, based on their entries to our own awards, presented in November

Colin Boughton, European operations director of Fujifilm SIS of Kent, remarked: “We were absolutely delighted for our hard work and determination in the field of sustainable innovation to be recognised in this way, and enjoyed the opportunity to be interviewed by BBC In Business presenter Peter Day at the Awards lunch.

“We are grateful to the British Coatings Federation for nominating us for this Award.”

Tom Bowtell, BCF’s chief executive was equally delighted, adding: “Our huge congratulations go to the Fujifilm SIS team.

“This is the first Innovation Excellence Awards Programme run by the Stationers’ Company, which serves the £75bn communications and content industry, and we look forward to being able to nominate BCF members in the future, based on their entries to our own awards, presented in November.”
