Guandong intensify competition with latex launch

Chinese supplier, Gunadong claims it has 'enriched' its offering with the release of a window graphics vinyl material for use with latex print technologies

The release is set to intensify competition in the window graphics supply sector

It is generally accepted that latex technologies bring environmental benefits and Guandong is hoping to cash in on this growing market trend, with its One Way Vision Polymeric 18660.

Indeed, the firm says the product is the result of an intensive research and development process involving the respective Mimaki and HP technologies, although not with the firms themselves.

“Latex is a young printing technology within the miscellaneous world of graphics arts, and in spite of that, it is picking up support among printing operators thanks to inks properties, in relation with specific applications,” says Fabio Elmi, Guandong, sales & marketing director.

The product has been designed for static and dynamic window decorations with what the firm terms as needing a  'strong emotional impact' to draw in potential customers.  It is the highly competitive store front market, as well as the bust, taxi and train window markets that the firm believes the product is best suited to.

The manufacturer believes that a key benefit of the material is its cadmium-free PVC surface designed to 'ensure excellent quality in printing, long-lasting and odorless prints, resistant to scratches and smudges'.

Elmi adds: “Performance of this printing technology can be further improved by using ad hoc materials, such as our Polymeric 18660, which emphasise the advantages of latex printing.”
