Thanking the UK’s frontline heroes

As the ongoing coronavirus pandemic causes the majority of the UK to go into lockdown, critical workers such as teachers, police, waste collectors, public transport drivers, NHS workers and more are all working to keep things going.

The campaign thanks the UK’s frontline heroes during the coronavirus pandemic

Ocean Outdoor has partnered with Ocean Studio, which designed the campaign, and has broadcast a series of images thanking these workers on screens across the UK.

Launching last weekend, the campaign can be seen across Ocean Outdoor’s entire city and roadside inventory and will also be installed onto Landsec’s Piccadilly Lights this week.

Phil Hall and Steve George, Ocean Outdoor joint managing directors say: “These are extraordinary times and people are doing incredible work to keep our people safe, cared for and our cities and the country running as best as is safely possible.

These professions, and others, cannot be placed into self-isolation, so it’s our way of drawing attention to their selfless work and show our gratitude. It’s times like this that a thank you goes a long way

“These professions, and others, cannot be placed into self-isolation, so it’s our way of drawing attention to their selfless work and show our gratitude. It’s times like this that a thank you goes a long way.”

In addition to the Local Heroes campaign, Ocean has been using its screens to run NHS campaigns advising people on ways to protect themselves and others from catching the coronavirus.

Ocean also says it is continuously exploring other ways to use the out-of-home platform to support the government in providing information and advice during this testing time.
