A recent study by Grand View Research predicts that the digital signage market could be worth more than $20m (£12.8m) by the year 2020.

IEC, which runs the SGI Dubai 2016 show, has followed up on this by stating that Dubai will play a key role in this growth, with the city showing plenty of interest in the industry.

“Digital signage is considered to be more strategically beneficial in the market in comparison to static signage as the content which updates more often can be digitally be updated,” IEC chief executive officer Sharif Rahman comments.

“Apart from that, digital signage has the capacity to be compatible with image capturing devices, imbedded touch screen and motion detection devices.

“GCC and Mena regions have created a huge demand for the sign, graphic and imaging industry with several high-end malls, new airports, industry exhibitions around the clock and launch of many other upscale clusters.”

SGI Dubai 2016 will take place at the World Trade Centre in Dubai from January 10th to 12th next year.
