Engage sets the trend with Virtual Style Pod
Interactive technologies specialist Engage Production has completed the production of a virtual changing room that will allow shoppers to virtually try on new clothes.

The innovative Virtual Style Pod allowed shoppers to try on host of outfits without having to change out of the clothes they were already wearing
Commissioned by Avantgarde Middle East, the Virtual Style Pod was piloted at world-renowned ‘mega-mall’ The Galleria on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi for three weeks.
The new retail experience enabled visitors to click through a range of clothing—with what Engage claims is the world’s first accurate clothing simulation—an accessories while a 3D virtual styling expert assisted the shopper with fitting and colour choice.
Space3D supplied its Fashion3D application for the Virtual Style Pod, while Avantgarde Middle East was responsible for the concept creation, project management and hosting of the system.
Shoppers loved the convenience it offers and were clearly wowed by the technology.

Utilising a life-size screen mirror, augmented reality software would overlay the shopper’s image with 3D renders of clothing—enabling the user to create outfits by mixing and matching a range of clothes from the host’s inventory.

Steve Blyth, managing director of Engage, says it was a ‘huge privilege’ to create such a creative initiative and was pleased with the feedback the firm received from both shoppers and staff.
