The MultiTouch screens form part of the new $100m facility
The facility, home of the famous NASA space exploration team, has been the site of various space missions in years gone by—including the infamous moon landings in 1969.
The latest attraction at the site is an exhibit that pays tribute to Atlantis, the last space shuttle ever to enter space.
The $100m, 9,000sq ft facility has been designed to engage with visitors and give them an ‘out of this world’ experience.
It provides visitors with more than 60 interactive touchscreen experiences and high-tech simulators.
STS Timeline and ISS media walls have proven extremely popular with guests, who have enjoyed having an unprecedented amount of information, images and videos about the Space Shuttle Program and the ISS right at their fingertips that’s easy to search and fun to use”
Amongst the installations is the International Space Station (ISS) wall—one single large interactive display wall comprised of seven 55” MultiTaction Cells that tells the story of the ISS.
In addition, the Shuttle Transportation System Timeline also comprises six 55” MultiTaction Cells integrated into on tilted table, engaging guests with facts and graphics about the shuttle programme.
Tim Macy, director of project development at the visitor complex, was full of praise for the new installation.
He enthuses: “STS Timeline and ISS media walls have proven extremely popular with guests, who have enjoyed having an unprecedented amount of information, images and videos about the Space Shuttle Program and the ISS right at their fingertips that’s easy to search and fun to use.”
