The new Mimaki UJV55-320, launched at FESPA, was purchased 30 times in the first two days of the show

The classic two-storey Mimaki stand has been typically abuzz with visitor interest over the course of the event at Amsterdam’s RAI exhibition centre, and the firm’s success at this year’s FESPA Digital can be confirmed by the fact that 30 brand new UJV55-320’s had already been purchased in the show’s first two days. The unprecedented demand has resulted in Mimaki running out of Europe’s initial allocation of machines from Japan.

The new 3.2m roll-to-roll UV inkjet printer is designed to substantially reduce production timescales by producing dry sign and display graphics straight from the machine thanks to UV-curable ink cured with low-energy LED light.

Mike Horsten, general manager of marketing for Mimaki EMEA, comments: “Large indoor signs backlit with energy-efficient LED lights are growing in popularity in locations such as airports, train stations and commercial facilities as brand owners move to more environmentally sustainable advertising.

The UJV55-320 is a best-in-class printer that leverages Mimaki’s significant print technology expertise, bringing into one printer an accumulation of the many innovations we have developed over the years

“The new UJV55-320 is ideal for these applications, and we are very excited to bring it to market. Users will be especially pleased with the image opacity and broad colour gamut this outstanding printer delivers. And even better, we think it offers the best price/performance in its class, ensuring profitable operations.”

The UJV55-320 can reach speeds of up to 110sq m/h with print resolutions of up to 1200 dpi. It also boasts Mimaki’s ‘Circulation Technology’, which allows the machine to maintain white ink print quality while simultaneously reducing ink waste.

Horsten concludes: “The UJV55-320 is a best-in-class printer that leverages Mimaki’s significant print technology expertise, bringing into one printer an accumulation of the many innovations we have developed over the years.

"It is the perfect complement to existing sign and display graphics production platforms as well as an affordable market entry for operations looking for new sign and display graphics revenue streams.”
