Print-on-demand (POD) ecommerce platform, Printful, has upgraded its direct-to-garment (DTG) printing capabilities with the installation of a range of Kornit Digital technology.

According to Printful, the company has upgraded its DTG solutions with the integration of news units which are a part of the Atlas MAX technology. Currently the company boasts 86 Kornit Atlas MAX units into its global fulfilment network.

Since 2015 the company has reportedly invested tens of millions of dollars in upgrading its DTG printing solutions. Atlas MAX technology was reportedly chosen for its vibrant and durable prints, its reliability, and its comparatively small environmental footprint.

The Atlas MAX is compatible with Kornit’s Smart Curing solution, designed to streamline production by using one system for all curing processes without manual adjustments. According to Kornit, this allows for “optimal energy consumption and streamlined production”.

The machine uses Kornit’s Eco-Rapid ink set, developed to provide strong spot colour coverage and colour matching, as well as enhance print durability.

This equipment upgrade is part of Printful’s larger mission to grow its global fulfilment network and increase the quality and speed of its output. Printful’s catalogue of print-on-demand products includes a range of t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, and other branded offerings.

Speaking of the equipment upgrade, Krisjanis Ozols, research and development lead at Prinful, says: “We can confidently say Atlas MAX technology is the best DTG solution available on the market and at the rate Kornit Digital innovates, we cannot see them being surpassed.

“Printful has made significant investments, both in the dollar value and research and development resources, to upgrade our DTG systems in recent years as technology has advanced to ensure our customers delight in the printed product they receive and enjoy.”

Speaking about Printful’s capabilities, Ozols continues: “We are confident in our ability to deliver durable and vibrant prints across any production technique, and it's a privilege to work with trusted partners like Kornit Digital, who share our passion for excellence and delivering an outstanding experience to the end customer.”

Ronen Samuel, chief executive officer at Kornit Digital, adds: “At Kornit Digital, we continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible in textile printing so customers like Printful can accelerate and grow their business to new heights.

“Printful is an ideal partner as they share our dedication to sustainability while delivering vibrant, durable prints. Kornit will never stop innovating solutions that ensure partners like Printful can thrive in the on-demand economy.”

In November 2024, Printful announced a merger with print-focused technology business, Printify. The merger combined Printful’s entire in-house production facilities with Printify’s network of more than 85 third-party production partners to provide broader geographic reach and greater production selection.
