Print-on-demand and drinkware company, T-Shirt & Sons (TSS), has expanded its portfolio of solutions with the installation of a Kornit Apollo digital garment press.

The machine, installed alongside TSS’s existing Kornit Atlas MAX direct-to-garment (DTG) printers, has been added with the aim of streamlining operations and increasing production capacity.

TSS, which has headquarters both in the UK and the Netherlands, has adopted the Kornit Apollo to further its transition from traditional screen printing to digital production. Its clients include major online brands, high street retailers, and promotional businesses.

This addition to TSS’ Kornit MAX systems enables the company to significantly expand production capacity, improve speed, and enhance time-to-market – all while maintaining the high-quality standards.

Launched in 2023, the Apollo is designed such that only a single operator is required to load, prepare, and remove the garments during operation. The system can reportedly output up to 400 impressions per hour.

Speaking of the installation, commercial director at TSS, Adam Golder says: “The Kornit Apollo is a game-changer in on-demand production. It delivers exceptional results that speed up our time-to-market and optimises production runs.

“With the Apollo joining our existing fleet of MAX systems, we’re well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of our customers and scale our business even further.”

Ronen Samuel, chief executive officer at Kornit Digital, adds: “Manufacturers like TSS are transforming their operations to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding market.

“As a print-on-demand leader, TSS relies on both speed and quality for success. With the adoption of Apollo, TSS is not only streamlining its operations but also scaling production to new heights.”

Earlier in the year, Swedish retail giant H&M announced a collaboration with TSS, opening its first UK printing hub at the company’s site in Westbury, Wiltshire.
The printing hub, dubbed the ‘Creator Studio’, offers proprietary tech to artists, labels, and licensees, in order to provide an end-to-end solution for merchandise printing and fulfilment.
