Soyang Europe has promoted Damien Martin to the position of wide-format manager for the UK and Ireland.

The manufacturer and distributor of wide-format and superwide-format media has chosen Martin to support print service providers (PSPs) across the UK and Ireland, helping them to identify the most effective technology for their businesses.

In his new role, he assumes responsibility for the sales of Soyang’s 1.6m-wide printing equipment portfolio including Mimaki printers and cutters, Graphtec cutting plotters, and the VeloBlade range of die-cutting systems from Vivid Laminating Technologies.

A key part of Martin’s role will also include overseeing machinery showcases at Soyang’s new demonstration facility in Altham, North West England.

He takes on his new management position at Soyang having joined the company in April 2024 as sales manager.

Speaking about his promotion, Martin says: “I’m very grateful for the opportunity. The wide-format portfolio within our hardware department continues to go from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to working closely with our partners and supporting customers across a broad range of markets.”

Mark Mashiter, chief executive officer of Soyang, adds: “Drawing on his established experience in wide-format hardware sales, Damien will continue to focus on customer engagement, live demonstrations, and helping businesses invest in reliable, productive equipment that enhances their capabilities. This shows Soyang’s commitment to continued investment in our hardware department.”

Soyang’s Altham headquarters now includes a dedicated showroom focused on Platinum Technologies LIYU solutions, following its recent appointment as the official distributor of its solutions in Great Britain.

Designed to mirror the minimalist look and feel of Platinum Technologies LIYU's European Demo Centre in Düsseldorf, Germany, the facility has been created to allow visitors to experience focused demonstrations, explore a broad range of printed samples, and see first-hand how the solutions can support a wide variety of applications.
