Ocean Outdoor, a provider of digital out-of-home (DOOH) and out-of-home (OOH) advertising, has given details on its nine new fan experiences which have been created in partnership with Team GB for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Across its DOOH estate, Ocean will broadcast highlights on 48 digital screens in 13 cities as part of the company’s partnership with Discovery +.

Clips will be broadcast four times an hour for 19 days with sponsorship from adidas, GetPRO, and The National Lottery.

Ocean’s official Team GB fan zones will provide visitors with a wide array of sports and lifestyle activities alongside live footage from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Following its dressing for the 2024 Euros, Ocean Outdoor’s Marble Arch banner has now been turned into an Arc de Triomphe for the period of the games. The large wrap has been created with sportswear brand, adidas, which has designed the banner with three-time Olympic champion gymnast, Max Whitlock OBE.

Rachel Sutton, Ocean Outdoor’s head of brand partnerships, comments: “Delivering nine of the official fan zones in partnership with Team GB is a brilliant opportunity to evoke the spirit and values of the Games.

The fan zones are managed by Ocean Labs, a division of Ocean Outdoor dedicated to tech-driven experiences. The zones are located in areas like Battersea Power Station, Westfield London, St James Quarter in Edinburgh, and Bullring & Central in Birmingham.

Sutton adds: “Working with Team GB, our landlord partners and brands, this investment - and our wider DOOH Olympics activity - is a chance to bring the Paris Olympic Games to some iconic sites across the UK allowing Team GB fans to watch live sport and celebrate the defining moments of the Games together.”

A range of experiences like bike racing, motivational talks, and a goal-setting Pledge Wall will also be in place from the likes of Aldi, NatWest, and TikTok.

At Team GB House in Paris, Ocean will present a mixed reality experience for fans and visitors who can be turned into medal-winning athletes on a digital six sheet centred in the area.

The location will also host TikTok’s house party which will stream live into fan zones with performances from Natasha Bedingfield and Cat Burns.

The outdoor areas are open to visitors from July 26th at 11am. The Battersea Power Station fan zone will be formally opened by Olympic Champion Christine Ohuruogo MBE at 12pm which will be followed by a screening of the Olympics Opening Ceremony later in the day.
