Mayfield Press installs new swissQprint Kudu
Oxford-based Mayfield Press has replaced a previous swissQprint Nyala 3 with the new-generation Kudu flatbed printer in order to increase output quality while reducing operational costs
Roland has released the new EU2-1000MF, a wide-format UV flatbed designed to simplify rigid media production with direct-to-board printing capabilities

Digital printing solutions provider, Roland DG, has announced the launch of the EU2-1000MF, a wide-format UV flatbed printer designed to simplify rigid media production by enabling efficient, direct-to-board printing in high-output environments.
Developed for businesses producing signage, retail displays, exhibitions, and interior panels, the EU2-1000MF is designed to remove the complexity of traditional roll-to-roll print, laminate, and mount workflows.
By allowing users to move directly from file to finished board, the new flatbed printer can help to reduce manual handling, minimise rework, and deliver a more controlled, reliable production process.
Workflow simplification is at the core of the build philosophy of the EU2-1000MF, with the direct-to-board UV flatbed removing multiple production stages associated with roll printing, laminating, and mounting.
Supporting media sizes up to 1,220×2,440mm and materials up to 95mm thick, the EU2-1000MF can accommodates a wide range of rigid substrates, making it suitable for both established flatbed users and screen printers transitioning to digital production.
The press is also built with a new high-definition printhead, which reportedly allows the EU2-1000MF to deliver approximately 1.5 times higher productivity than the previous EU-1000MF, while maintaining expected image quality and operational approachability.
Despite this performance increase, pricing for the press remains unchanged from the outgoing model.
This balance of higher output and familiar operation enables businesses to increase capacity and efficiency without adding complexity to existing workflows.
Ryugo Nimura, executive officer for the Global Sales and Marketing division at Roland DG, says: “With the EU2-1000MF, we focused on helping print businesses simplify how rigid media work gets done.
“By moving directly from file to finished board, users can reduce manual steps, improve consistency, and increase output – all while maintaining the stable, repeatable quality needed for daily production.”
The EU2-1000MF is currently available through authorised Roland DG dealers, with more information about the press available on Roland DG’s EU website.
Roland also recently announced a new global brand refresh, as part of a shift in focus to becoming a complete solutions provider of hardware, software, supplies, and service.
