Leach brings a festive feel to the windows of the UK’s oldest luxury goods brand, Swaine

Huddersfield-based Leach has created festive Christmas window displays for two stores belonging to luxury goods brand, Swaine.
The stores decorated by Leach were Swaine’s boutique store in Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade and its 7,000sq ft flagship store in New Bond Street.
Centred around a theme of gentleman’s games, the brief for the displays included backgammon checkers, cards, chess pieces, dominoes, and dice which were nestled amongst cut-out figurines of sketched aristocratic Victorians, top hats, hot air balloons, and antique motors.
To bring the detailed designs to life, Leach produced over 150 printed elements in a variety of materials as well as 3D structures using vinyl-wrapped MDF and foamex.

According to the company, the project required a number of delicate aspects such as bespoke joinery work, precise vinyl trimming, and the hand painting of all edges in Panton-matched shades.
For the backdrop, Leach produced colourful dibond panels with flush-mounted vinyl featuring logos, geometric patterns, and oversized playing card designs. Several stretches of templated plinth flooring ensured the graphics were level with the bottom of the windows.
To give the displays a festive touch, suspended metal gold and pink stars were added using a bespoke hanging structure. Acrylic tubing descending from the structure was bonded to the stars, along with a few clubs, spades, hearts, and diamonds.
The bespoke hanging structure is a permanent feature but is reusable which enables Swaine to produce various campaigns by positioning suspended graphics in different places and heights.

By expediting the production process, Leach was able to turn the project around in less than one week with artwork proofing and quality checking taking only two days. Installations were completed over a single weekend with the first store’s windows finished overnight on Saturday and the second overnight on Sunday.
Swaine has been so impressed by Leach’s quality of work during this completely bespoke project that it has already appointed the company to dress its windows again in January 2024.
“I’m over the moon with the entire installation and the quality of the kit supplied,” says Max Karie, Swaine’s visual merchandiser.
Tom Foster, director of project management at Leach, adds: “It was a real honour for Swaine to put its Christmas window campaign into our hands. Our wide breadth of specialist printing capabilities came together to produce a stunning display that exceeded expectations.
“I’m proud to say that this was completed against quite a tight timeframe but with no detriment to the high-quality graphics that we are known for.”
