Astley received a Bronze medal from sustainability assessor, EcoVadis, reportedly one of the only UK signage companies to do so

UK sign-maker, Astley, has achieved a Bronze medal award from EcoVadis, a sustainability assessor for businesses worldwide.
The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 measures across four core themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings aim to provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
In order to receive the Bronze medal award, Astley had to place in the top 35% percent of global companies assessed by EcoVadis in the past 12 months. More than 130,000 companies globally have been rated by EcoVadis to date.
Speaking of the award, James Mavi, sales and marketing director at Astley, says: “Astley is incredibly proud to have received the EcoVadis Bronze medal, which is a recognition of our commitment to making sustainability a core part of our business.
“Sustainability is more than just looking at our environmental factors, but also it’s about how we treat our staff and supply partners, and how we can continue working sustainably to ensure we have a healthy business that supports local recruitment.”
Earlier this year, Astley also published a net zero roadmap and decarbonisation strategy, one of the first sign-makers in the UK to do so, according to Astley.
The roadmap outlines Astley’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions across its operations through the review and development of its manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and awareness training.
