A renowned graffiti artist and streetwear designer, OG Slick, has transformed a Los Angeles gallery into an immersive experience using a Mimaki printer and Drytac materials.

The installation was part of OG Slick’s recent show, “I 🙂 LA,” which was hosted by art agency, Legacy West Media.

OG Slick (whose real name is Richard P. Wyrgatsch II) is an artist who blends graffiti, satire, and street culture. Born in Honolulu and based in Los Angeles since the mid-80s, his work ranges from traditional murals to public sculptures, toy design, streetwear, and site-specific installations.

The project was realised through a collaboration with Mimaki USA and Drytac, with Ernest Contreras, senior print solutions specialist at Mimaki USA, working closely with OG Slick to design and produce floor graphics that were both eye-catching and durable.

The graphics, which included bright yellow emojis and the artist’s ‘SLICK’ graffiti tag, were printed on a Mimaki UCJV300 printer and installed by the artist himself.

Speaking of the collaboration, Contreras says: “OG Slick knew exactly what he wanted – something high impact and DIY. The right print setup and materials enabled him to self-install while achieving a professional finish, which is exactly what artists appreciate.”

Drytac’s SpotOn Floor 200 was selected for its ease of use and durability

According to Contreras, Drytac’s SpotOn Floor 200 was selected for its simplicity, performance, and time-saving qualities.

The vinyl features a removable, slip-rated adhesive, designed to allow for easy, bubble-free installation without professional installers and clean removal after the one-month show. As a one-part media, the material also requires no lamination, further streamlining the process.

The SpotOn Floor PVC film was paired with Mimaki’s UV inks, with the result blending a visually striking look with high durability.

Recent equipment releases by Mimaki have focused on harnessing the capabilities of additional ink sets such as UV inks.

Hybrid Services, the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Mimaki, used its stand at The Sign Show 2025 to host the global launch of the new Mimaki TS200-1600 dye-sublimation printer.

The machine has an extended eight-colour ink set, including orange and violet inks, as well as newly developed fluorescent pink and yellow inks for applications such as sportswear, custom promotional items, home décor, and soft signage.

Signs Express Bristol recently used Drytac’s SpotOn White monomeric PVC film to produce a set of window graphics for the opening of a new gym.

The PVC film from Drytac features a dot pattern adhesive designed to make it easy to apply to walls, windows, glass, and other smooth surfaces, opening up its use for short-term graphics across environments such as retail, trade shows, and office spaces.
