Why has HP decided to release these products now and what type of customer to they benefit most?

HP has decided to release these products now to address the challenges that print service providers (PSPs) face in a rapidly evolving industry.

The economic conditions, labour costs, and technological advancements present both opportunities and dilemmas for PSPs. By providing scalable hardware and software solutions, HP aims to empower mid-high-volume PSPs to expand and scale their large format print applications and increase their profitability.

This scalability model benefits PSPs who are looking to grow without needing to replace the entire machine. It’s about providing flexibility to customers, enabling them to start with the FS50 and upgrade to the FS60 as their needs grow. This ensures that customers are not limited in their choices and can adapt their hardware but also the software workflow to the evolving requirements.

What would you say is unique or different about these machines to others on the market?

The unique aspect of these machines compared to others on the market is their scalability. The HP Latex FS Printer Series offers a scalable platform that grows with the business and allows for easy upgrades in both hardware and software.

It provides tailored configurations for different customer needs and ensures a longer lifespan with reduced environmental impact. Additionally, the printers deliver exceptional results with a wider colour gamut and offer high productivity and cost-effectiveness through modular and user-replaceable components.

What work or solutions could print or sign-makers create which they couldn't before with this technology?

With this technology, mid to high volume print or sign-makers can create new applications and offer new services that they couldn't before. The HP Latex FS Printer Series enables them to expand their range of high-margin job applications, including signage and décor applications like thin films, vinyl, and odourless backlit textiles.

The printers ensure consistent colour and quality configurations, allowing print or sign-makers to deliver stunning results. The scalability of the platform also allows PSPs to have easy integration of future enhancements, enabling them to stay ahead and tap into new business opportunities.

How do these releases fit with HP's sustainability goals and how realistic is it for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to achieve these green credentials?

These releases align with HP's sustainability goals. The HP Latex FS Printer Series utilizes latex water-based inks, which provide a comfortable working environment for PSPs and help them stand out with certifications and recycling programs.

The printers also offer reduced environmental impact over time by providing a longer lifespan and the ability to upgrade components instead of disposing and replacing the entire machine. Achieving green credentials for SMEs is realistic with these printers as they contribute to reducing waste and minimizing hazardous air pollutants.

Anything else to add?

Overall, these product releases demonstrate HP's commitment to innovation and partnership with its customers. The scalable platform and advanced features of the HP Latex FS Printer Series, along with the general availability of the enhancements in HP PrintOS Live Production software, empower PSPs to adapt to the ever-changing market and drive profitability.

The combination of hardware and software solutions ensures that PSPs can make strategic investments, optimise workflows, and stay competitive in the technology-driven printing industry.
