A second-generation, family-owned business, BISON was on the lookout for a machine that could enhance its service offering to a wide range of clients, which includes customers in the automotive, medical, construction, financial, tech, hospitality and educational sectors.

Offering products and services from windows, walls and floor graphics, through to signage and outdoor media and print for marketing, BISON selected the HP Latex 800W to take on all sorts of work.

Replacing an older HP Latex 500, managing director Mark Bidewell explains that the new machine will offer improved productivity, as well as higher quality.

Bidewell also highlighted the HP Latex 800W’s environmentally friendly features as a key factor in the decision to invest.

“We chose this machine as it supports our mission: to create high quality printed graphics without harming the planet or animals,” Bidewell says, adding: “The printer has fantastic environmental credentials, the inks are vegan and it has white ink, which we use regularly on our small-format printing, which wanted to offer this across the board and open up new revenue streams.

“In addition to this, we have the 3-litre ink tanks versus the 777ml ink carts.”

Reflecting on his visit to The Print Show, Bidewell praised the event, saying it offered him and BISON the opportunity to learn even more about green ventures in print.

“It was a small and intermate show, but we actually got as much, if not more than usual, out of the show; this of it as fine dining versus a buffet,” Bidewell says.

“It was very enjoyable; we mixed with old friends and new, built some connections, learned some new things and made an investment.

“A highlight for me was to see in a greenwashed, alleged aging and dirty industry, so many businesses showcasing creative, innovative and resourceful ways of offering media and print.”
