The upgraded Jet Mira can operate at speeds of up to 231sq m/hr

The new model can handle print up to 2.69m wide, as well as printing speeds of 231sq m/hr, print and prepare functionality and a dockable roll-to-roll option.

Agfa also highlights other features such as highly-pigmented UV inks and two rows of fast-firing Ricoh inkjet printheads, as well as UV LED curing technology, which the manufacturer says involves significant advantages.

Reinhilde Alaert, marketing product manager, sign and display high-end at Agfa, comments: “Equipped with UV LED lamps for the curing process, the Jeti Mira comes with a number of economical, ecological and business-generating benefits.

“LEDs have minimal heat output, for example, which allows for a broader scope of print applications; they also ensure very stable bi-directional calibration, high productivity, significant power savings and consistent output over the life-time of the system, and this all leads to a greater ROI.”

Agfa’s specially-formulated UV LED inks can print on heat-sensitive substrates such as thin slides, self-adhesive sheets and stretchable PVC materials, and are available in a wide range of colours, suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

“At SGIA this year, Jeti Mira was the recipient of a Product of the Year Award, thanks to its high printing quality and low ink consumption, which makes it stand out from the competition,” Alaert says, adding: “All of our UV inks—white and colour—offer outstanding, stable jetting performance and deliver the same high-quality results, batch after batch.”

The company also points to the benefits of using Asanti wide-format workflow software, which it says controls the entire printing process from prepress to production and finishing.

New additions to Asanti include the optional integration with PrintSphere, Agfa’s cloud-based service production automation, easy file sharing and safe data storage, and a solution that Agfs says offers a “standardised way for print service providers to automate their workflows and facilitate data exchange with customers, colleagues, freelancers, other departments and other Agfa solutions”.

In addition, advanced 3D lens printing on the new machine allows the users to add various effects to applications such as POP displays, packaging, decorative prints and trade show graphics.

Alaert concludes: “With this new potential to generate stunning 3D effects, the Jeti Mira is truly a versatile printing revelation.”
