HP ready for Drupa with new Latex legion

HP has unveiled the new additions to its range of Latex printers, the HP Latex 500 series consisting of the 560 and 570 printers, and the HP Latex 1500, all of which are to be on display at Drupa later this month.

HP has confirmed three new additions to its Latex range, the 560, 570, and the super-wide 1500, which will be on display at the upcoming Drupa. Pictured: The HP Latex 1500

The 500 series is aimed at medium to large print-service-providers, with both the 560 and 570 allowing users to manage a series of jobs with more unattended printing—HP Latex Mobile means jobs can be managed away from the printer or overnight—and boasts usage modes with 50 percent more ink density.

But the most impressive new piece of technology from the print giant is the Latex 1500. On the back of the popular Latex 3000, the new super-wide machine is compatible with a range of indoor and outdoor applications such as textiles and PVC banners.

The 3.2m wide model can print at speeds of up to 74sq m/h when in outdoor production mode, and includes 1200dpi HP Thermal Inkjet print heads as well as an embedded spectrophotometer, automatic nozzle replacement, and an optical media advance sensor.

Xavier Garcia, general manager, large format printing division, HP, comments: “Many medium-to-large sign and display print providers are looking for solutions that can handle higher-production volumes and enable access to profitable applications.
