Karl Richardson, print manager at Harberson, says the Mimaki products have helped the company access new sources of business

The Appleton-based firm purchased a Mimaki TS34-1800A in order to support its expanding portfolio of services, which has evolved from supplying bed linen to the health and care sector, to offering bespoke dye-sublimation printing of tablecloths and linen for the exhibition industry.

In order to support this ongoing expansion, the firm took delivery of the Mimaki from RA Smart after seeing it in action at Sign and Digital UK.

Karl Richardson, print manager at Harberson, says the investment has helped the firm capture new business and evolve its service offering.

“The 1.8m width of the Mimaki TS34 was pivotal in our decision to purchase as we wanted to develop our table cloth printing side of the business,” Richardson says, adding: “We were given great advice from specialist reseller RA Smart, who supplied us with the TS34 and a Transmatic heat press and have had great results from both, both in terms of the print quality and end result, but with productivity too.”

Mimaki’s TS34-1800A has continuously delivered a competitively priced solution at a popular width and with powerful production capabilities

Magnus Mighall, managing director of RA Smart, adds: “Mimaki’s TS34-1800A has continuously delivered a competitively priced solution at a popular width and with powerful production capabilities. Using aqueous ink to print to polyester ensures the Mimaki printing solution has excellent green credentials.”

Mimaki will hope to receive more positive comments about its machines when it exhibits at this year’s Viscom Düsseldorf event over in Germany.

Taking place from November 4th to 6th, the show is expected to attract interest from across the wider print market, with Mimaki planning to exhibit its selection of technologies, inks and special colours in the graphics sector.

Mike Horsten, general manager marketing EMEA at Mimaki Europe, comments: “Viscom presents an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate the opportunities our continually growing range of solutions brings to the market.

The focus of the show stand will be on new and updated products that offer our customers more business opportunities than ever before

“The focus of the show stand will be on new and updated products that offer our customers more business opportunities than ever before. Naturally, we also want to demonstrate and display our tried and tested systems and share with visitors how these have helped other companies acquire new markets.”

Mimaki will also be in attendance at InPrint 2015, which also take place in Germany at the Munich Trade Fair from November 10th to 12th. Targeted at the industrial print sector, Mimaki will be on hand to demonstrate how its solutions can support those in this area of the industry.

Hosrsten adds: “The industrial print arena is becoming more digital and we have a number of solutions that are ideal for this fast-growing sector.”
