Signmaster and Seiko enjoy ongoing honeymoon

Following its significant stand presence at Sign and Digital UK 2015 in conjunction with wide-format print technology manufacturer Seiko, Signmaster Systems managing director says the relationship is helping his company to, ‘set itself apart from the competition'

Phil George explained the reasoning behind the assertion: “The partnership between Signmaster and Seiko is now over a year old and has already proved to be a massive success.

“We can deliver the promise of outstanding customer care, which has always been Seiko’s goal with the level of service they provide, as well as raising expectations of the performance that can be achieved with its digital printers.

"We want to be on par with Roland DG, where the after care is second to none.”

Signmaster and Seiko ran a grand prize giveaway at Sign and Digital UK to promote their strengthened ties, and saw visitors to the show drop their business card into a special sealed box.

The assembled media then gathered as Seiko’s international sales manager, Shu Watanabe, pulled the winner flanked by George and Seiko Europe’s head of sales Frank Janschke.

The lucky card belonged to the director of Sheffield-based M and M Sign Solutions Matthew Ball—who walked away with a top-end Seiko watch and a bottle of champagne.

George continues: “Our strengthened relationship with Seiko though does not affect other parts of our business. Second user hardware has also always been a big part of our business and nothing will change.

"Signmaster Systems will continue to accept printers and cutters in part exchange and still offer fully refurbished second user equipment from Mimaki, Roland and Seiko.”

In addition, George says its own ink business continues to grow, selling alternative UV and solvent inks for a core selection of major wide-format print brands.

It has also strengthened its technical support and repairs capabilities, while also continuing with its OEM ink, parts and consumables supply business for key wide-format brands.
