Sony has incorporated cloud-based software for its professional displays

The cloud-based software supports enhanced 4K resolution, HDR imagery and integrated support for HTML5 and open APO support, optimised for use within businesses. The software has been designed to work with BRAVIA’s Android operating system, taking away the need for external media player devices.

The iRevo Author and Manage cloud apps run on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and supports a range of input sources and content types for digital signage projects. The AWS web applications allow users to create layouts, set schedules, view content on timelines and manage content in real-time.

“As cloud adoption increases in every industry, we sought a provider who could bring those same benefits, including security, reliability and ubiquitous accessibility, to our community of professional BRAVIA users,” says Mark Bonifacio, head of education segment at Sony.

The addition of the iRevo enterprise solution expands and differentiates Sony’s digital signage offerings, ensuring we have scalable options that meet a variety of customer requirements

He adds: “The iRevo integration for BRAVIA further supports Sony’s fundamental values of providing our customers with customisable solutions that support their business needs, while streamlining their workflow and addressing their largest challenges.

“The addition of the iRevo enterprise solution expands and differentiates Sony’s digital signage offerings, ensuring we have scalable options that meet a variety of customer requirements.”

Dhimant Bhayani, chief executive officer of iRevo Multimedia comments: “We have customised the iDS Android app for professional BRAVIA displays and adapted our cloud application platform for smooth installation, activation and use for an enriched user experience.

“By integrating and exposing the Android operating system’s extended I/O and media handling capabilities, now our customers can design signage projects for use cases not possible before with a similar setup.”
