SAI reboots remote working

You will never be able to leave work again, or rather work will never be able to leave you. At least that is the ambition SA International (SAI) has for its latest piece of sign-making software and mobile technology.

The newly updated SAI Cloud mobile app allows sign-makers to stay on top of production via mobile devices, ever smart watches

“The nature of smart technology invariably means that, like all of us, business owners have become reliant upon it as a means of accessing information 24/7, wherever they may be,” says Dean Derhak, senior product director at SAI.

He adds: “A number of sign shops today are probably unaware of how their true production output is trending month-to-month. The updates to our SAi Cloud mobile app allow our customers to spot areas that could help them improve throughput.”

The new updates are designed to work in conjunction with SAI’s Flexi version 12 software.

The app is now designed to work with smartwatch support and provides a ‘Production Trends’ dashboard, reportedly the very first of its kind for wide-format raster image processor (RIP) software.

The unique Production Trends dashboard builds a comprehensive picture over time, as daily production rates are recorded and then built into monthly and annual totals that can be compared to previous months, quarters, and years.

It can also be used to estimate the company’s future performance based on these accumulated trends and aid business owners in their decision making.

Derhak continues: “Available now on the Apple Watch and Android Wear, the smartwatch support uniquely helps business owners of SAi Flexi to quickly view recently completed jobs, regardless of the owner’s location.

"This reduces the need to be in the office or workshop and enables owners to instantly update customers during on-site visits.”
