New Signs Express MD to fill big shoes

It is a new year and a new management team for the Signs Express franchise. The buy-out of the network franchise was announced at the end of last year, and was the result of a two-year plan, which included significant investment in infrastructure and support services.

Jonathon Bean took over as managing director of the Signs Express franchise on January 1st 2018

Jonathon Bean has now taken up the role of managing director, looking to fill the big shoes of Craig Brown, who became managing director 2007, was a shareholder in the business, and oversaw a period of impressive growth and success at the franchise.

Bean comments: “2017 has been a remarkable year for the business. We’ve proudly celebrated our 25 years in franchising and marked that milestone to help us achieve incredible growth in our network. Consequently, our trading has been exceptionally strong with our third successive record year. All of this adds up to a fitting tribute to Craig’s tenure as managing director and both I and the board team, are really excited about building upon that legacy.”

I am delighted to announce this MBO and to now help transition the ownership of Signs Express to a hugely talented management team

The board of directors will include network development director Aaron Davis and chairman Carl Fischer. Ed Guichard, marketing director, IT director Mark Poole and commercial director Mark Harvey, will make up the board.

Outgoing managing director Brown, who originally announced the news on Linkedin, adds: “I am delighted to announce this MBO and to now help transition the ownership of Signs Express to a hugely talented management team. I genuinely believe I will be leaving the business in much better shape that when I took the role of managing director, and it is poised for a really exciting future.”

Signs Express currently has 66 franchisees across the UK, since its establishment in 1989. Part of the network’s growth plan includes reaching 80 franchisees in Britain by 2020.
