Top man: Naren Patel has been elected chairman of the OMC Council

The Outdoor Media Centre (OMC) has announced that Naren Patel has been elected chairman of the OMC Council. Patel replaces Jeremy Male, who has left the country to lead CBS Outdoor Americas. Naren will continue his current role as CEO of Primesight, a role he has held since 2000. He is a long-standing member of the OMC Council, having served on the Council for more than a decade. The chairmanship has historically rotated between the four Council members.

Patel says: “It’s a great time for the outdoor medium right now. It seems that our star is rising, given that we have enjoyed eight quarters of growth up to the current quarter.

We have steadily gained a share of display advertising, through investing heavily in traditional and new media formats

He continues: “We have steadily gained a share of display advertising, through investing heavily in traditional and new media formats. With our conference Outdoor Works, the continued impact of digital, and the launch of Route, there has been a lot going on. At the same time, we have seen more advertisers finding a role for outdoor within their media and marketing campaigns.”

This summer more than a fifth of Outdoor’s revenues are now digital, as growth has continued month on month this year.
