With support and advice from William Smith’s technical sales team, Signwright UK has completed a high-end refurbishment project at Beverly Racecourse

The business promised to provide a ‘high-end look without a high-end cost’, using 3M’s Di-Noc self-adhesive laminate film to create an elegant setting, achieved in just twelve weeks.

Signwright managing director Matthew Wright explains: “We contacted William Smith at the beginning of the project and they recommended Di-Noc. And, in order to help the architect and client select the colour and finish from this extensive range, they supplied sample boards of the material so that everyone concerned could get a real feel for the product and how it would look. This was essential to the project due to the prestige nature of the area of the race course concerned.”

Di-Noc recreates a number of finishes, including wood, metal, marble, and leather, and is compatible for use on walls, floors, furniture, and machines.

We were working within a very tight time constraint but completed installation with around six hours to spare (and a few sleepless nights). It looks very effective and the client was impressed with the product

Wright continues: “Due to the thickness of the material Di-Noc required careful application. However, by working meticulously in accordance with 3M’s instructions, it applied very well and achieved the desired result. We also produced trial panels and put them to rigorous tests before starting full production.”

Some 27 components made up the project, with the largest being the back wall panels, and Di-Noc’s flexibility meant that the strict deadline could be met by the team. Wright concludes: “In all around 500 panels were produced, all of which required precise and accurate finish to the corners, and nearly 2,000 fixings were used.

“We were working within a very tight time constraint but completed installation with around six hours to spare (and a few sleepless nights). It looks very effective and the client was impressed with the product.”
