LG Hausys target UK market share

Backed by the might of its multi-national parent company, sign and graphics material specialist LG Hausys is targeting the UK as a key area of expansion, revealing a strategy that will see it significantly increase its market share.

A force to be reckoned with, LG has 220,000 employees worldwide with 60 companies in 54 countries, and a total sales revenue of $136bn. Its three core sectors are electronics, chemicals, and telecommunications and services, with its subsidiary LG Hausys operating in the high-performance materials market.

Top talent

As part of its targeted growth, LG Hausys design centre has been strengthening its position by collaborating on products with notable global designers, including a wall covering with Vera Wang and bio-degradable flooring and decofoil with Alexandro Mendini. In fact, the LG Hausys design centre is ranked seventh in terms of IF product design award frequency.

Commenting on the firm’s strategy for growing its UK market share, Vithaldas continues: “The UK is the most important market for LG sign and graphics materials; it has a large market, a multicultural society, high awareness of the LG brand, and is becoming the core nation in Europe.”

One recent new development from LG Hausys is the Premium Art Cast, a new media that Vithaldas claims will change the whole notion of signage media. He continues: “With our own special coating technology and surface finishing methods, LG Art Cast has obtained unprecedented glossiness and a great level of resistance to chemical ingredients.”

Backed by key sign-industry suppliers such as PaperlinX (Robert Horne) and All Print Supplies, LG Hausys is also targeting vehicle wrapping as a key area of its expansion into the UK market.
