Ricoh and Flora are partnering to bring large-format hardware to the signage and graphics markets

Ricoh Europe has partnered with flatbed and large-format digital inkjet manufacturer, Flora Digital in EMEA.

The partnership will focus on expanding Ricoh Europe’s product range to offer responsive and agile large-format systems for the graphics, interior décor, and industrial sectors.

According to Eef de Ridder, vice president of Ricoh Europe’s Graphic Communications Group, the partnership is the result of positive feedback from Ricoh’s UV flatbed series as well as continued demand for flexible UV hybrid devices for signage and graphics.

“We wanted to explore how Ricoh technology could be combined with Flora’s manufacturing expertise to create responsive, versatile solutions that meet today’s market demands,” he says, adding: “We look forward to expanding our offering with systems that combine both parties’ technical knowledge and expertise to support clients as they evolve their large-format capabilities.”

The first addition to the portfolio as a result of the new partnership will be a compact flatbed hybrid printer featuring Ricoh printhead technology, ColorGATE RIP software, and ICC profiles.

The machine’s hybrid nature will mean it can run both rigid and flexible media up to two metres wide enabling users to produce graphics on PVC banners, vinyl, and rigid boards.

Ricoh’s existing portfolio consists of the RICOH Pro T7210 and RICOH Pro TF6251 UV flatbed printers, and RICOH Pro L5160e and RICOH Pro L5130e large-format latex printers.
