The GERBER EDGE FX 40th Anniversary Edition can be used to produce work for both indoor and outdoor use

First launched in 1993, the GERBER EDGE printer has proved a popular choice with companies across the market, being used for signage and graphics jobs of all shapes and sizes, while predecessor model EDGE 2 and later the GERBER EDGE FX evolved to offer various new features.

As Gerber’s exclusive European distributor, Spandex will now offer the updated GERBER EDGE FX 40th Anniversary Edition to customers, with the promise of more than 70 spot colours, including white and transparent options, as well as firmware designed to make production processes both faster and easier.

The versatility of the GERBER EDGE FX is one of its biggest strengths

Output is dry and can be used for both indoor and outdoor projects, without the need to laminate, with outdoor graphics offering a five-year durability to users and their customers.

Jim Rich, category director for Spandex, comments: “The versatility of the GERBER EDGE FX is one of its biggest strengths. When you combine the EDGE’s features with such a wide variety of matched materials and colour possibilities, the applications can be endless.”

Other features on the 40th Anniversary Edition model include a backlit keypad, making it easier to see in dark or bright lighting conditions, as well as the ability to print brilliant spot and process colours, metallics and white, directly to a host of EDGE READY materials.

The digital production system also offers users a complete matched technology system when combined with Gerber’s OMEGA workflow software; meaning that
graphics producers can use Gerber software and equipment for the entire production process, from graphic design through to the printing and plotting.

With its proven technology, small system footprint, no print odours and reusable cartridges, the GERBER EDGE is a very user friendly piece of equipment

In addition, customers are able to use the GerberColor Spectratone to create more than 3,000 colours by printing one spot colour foil on top of another, thus widening the possibilities of the new 40th Anniversary Edition model and the types of work that users can take on with the machine in their arsenal.

Rich adds: “With its proven technology, small system footprint, no print odours and reusable cartridges, the GERBER EDGE is a very user friendly piece of equipment. When combined with Gerber OMEGA software and a Gerber 15” plotter, graphic production becomes an easy process from beginning to end.”
