In a bid to become a Trade House for the printing and signage industries, Peerless Plastics and Coatings has invested in a Signracer 2500 H-LED Hybrid UV printer

The new kit is part of a wider transformation strategy, as the business plans to become a Trade House for printing and signage firms. Peerless believes it to be ‘the only company who will be printing and protecting with UV curable hard coating at the same time under the same roof’.

Managing director of SSE Worldwide Scott Armitage comments: “This is a unique installation. Peerless is moving forward into new markets and we are pleased to support this exciting business strategy. The Signracer is proving extremely popular as a highly versatile, reliable and affordable machine of choice which fits easily into any production environment.

“The adjustable UV LED curing capability allows the printing of temperature sensitive substrates and enables companies to print onto a wide range of materials and objects. The capability and versatility of this UV printer opens up new markets for added-value printed products.

UV hard coating has been at the heart of Peerless’ business in recent years, and over a period of time the firm realised that signage and print firms in the area required a direct-to-media printing service but not enough to justify investing in a machine for in-house production. It was then that the firm saw the business opportunity that led to the investment of the Signracer.

The company has already undergone a refurbishment at its Thetford site, where the machine is due to be installed, as technical director at Peerless Phil Little adds: “We would like to say a big thank you to Scott Armitage and his team at SSE. It is largely down to them that we have been able to move forward successfully in such a short time frame.

“We will be looking to incorporate a number of machines able to print direct to media and we look forward to a strong ongoing relationship between our companies.”
